Editorial policy
Honest Cinema Review aims to make film criticism clear, fair and worth returning to. We separate what a film shows from what we infer, and make room for disagreement grounded in attention to the work.
Accuracy and interpretation
We check factual details before publication and take care with names, dates and descriptions of films. Interpretations are presented as readings, not settled facts. Where a point depends on context or remains uncertain, we state that plainly rather than making it sound conclusive.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to satisfy a filmmaker, distributor, advertiser or partner. A collaboration does not buy favourable coverage, and reviews are not exchanged for payment or other benefits.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and the detail in question. We assess correction requests carefully and update material when a factual correction is warranted; changes do not require us to adopt a disputed opinion.
Partnerships and illustrations
Paid, gifted or partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that applies, we identify them as AI-generated and do not present them as documentary images.
A verdict is only the beginning
We look for the choices behind a film’s effect, and leave room for viewers to see those choices differently.
